Pop-Up Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Solace Wonder Opens His Toy Chest to the General Public

SEATTLE, WA – May 9, 2013

Solace Wonder, a Seattle urban artist, invites you to a Toy Store extravaganza to help him celebrate the comical and strenuous existence we are all forced to endure. As a lover of comics and 80's pop culture, Solace spent endless hours in the lab in order to bring you this one of a kind exhibit. A blend of vintage G.I. Joes mixed with modern day customizable toys is bound to evoke the nostalgia and "innocence" of youth. A place where your inner child meets enterprise.
Does "canvas" correlate to commerce in today's art world? Are we able to evaluate artistic originality without dollar signs?  Should questions be posed in a press release?

Solace has always been fascinated with toys. As a lad he was meticulous about keeping all of the accessories with the proper figure. His love for these heroic miniatures grew as he did. As his passion and style developed within his art, he knew the two worlds would collide.

Playtime will take place at Home Suite Home, an intimate gallery/studio space in the heart of Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. Please don’t be alarmed about the décor of the space, the movable fireplace and wood paneled walls are in fact intentional. After all, we want to make you feel comfortable; think of our space as the very opposite of a fancy, icy gallery.

Some Vital Details:
When: Friday, May 10, 6-9 pm | Saturday, May 11, 12-5 pm
Where: 8537 Greenwood Ave N, Suite 100 Seattle, WA 98103

Artist Solace and resident puppy Biff will both be in attendance for a meet and greet.

Yes, cheap wine and snacks will be provided (isn’t this the main reason we go to art shows anyways?)

Telephone Show March 8, 2013

Remember the game Telephone that you played as a child. We took that idea and ran with it. But instead of using a saying or phrase to pass along we used artwork. 22 local artist interpreted the previous artist work and passed it along to the next artist. 6 different threads will bring forth insight to an artist’s ideas and direction from a previous artist’s creation. This show will be held in two different galleries. Both Bherd Studios Gallery & Home Suite Home Gallery will be showing artists work that has been created over the last 6 months. Come out and see the progression of each thread in Greenwood Artwalk.

Participating Artists: Aaron Jasinski, Amy Huddleston, Andrea Wicklund, Augie Pagan, Carlos Aguilar, Curtis Ashby, Chris Sheridan, Crystal Barbre, Dan Voelker, Ego, Jeremy Gregory, Joe Vollan, John Osgood, Larkin Cypher, Levi Hastings, Mat Savage, Megon Shore, Parskid, Quincy Quigg, Siolo Thompson,
Sam Wallis, & Tatjana Pavicevic

We made a small video for the occasion as well.

You don’t wanna miss this one! Hope to see you there!
